Challenge 3: Fancy Box

Today's challenge asked us to display an image and play a sound simultaneously for 10 seconds on the EV3.

We were told to choose an image file and display it for 10 seconds on screen, and to choose a sound file to play 10 times throughout this duration. To do this I set up a display box and selected the "night" file, then set the coordinates to 5X and 5Y. This displayed an image of a night sky.

Then I set up a sound box and selected the "sonar", playing the sound of a sonar beep. I then set it to repeat for the duration of the program.

Then finally I placed a wait box at the end, and set the timer to 10 so the program would run for 10 seconds before terminating.

In completing this challenge I learned how to repeat sounds, as well as how to display images on the EV3 screen. The Image display went the best I would say, it is nicely centered and shows for the right amount of time. The sound, although functioning properly, only has enough time to play five times instead of ten. So I would say that it did not function entirely as planned.

If I were to choose one thing to improve upon with this program it would be to see if there is a way to speed up/slow down sound files so they can repeat a certain number of times within the time limit. My goals for the next challenge are to create a longer program, and see how many different actions there are.
